File Type Definitions

Contours

A polyline ESRI shapefile with a predefined interval.

Point Cloud

The LAS file format is a public file format for the interchange of 3-dimensional point cloud data data between data users. Developed primarily for the exchange of LIDAR point cloud data, this format supports the exchange of any 3-dimensional x,y,z tuplet.

Georeferenced (Orthomosaic) Image

A full orthomosaic high-resolution image.

DXF

DXF is a CAD data file format first developed by Autodesk for the purpose of data interoperability between AutoCAD and other programs. This format enables the use of 3D data in CAD software

KML

Image tiles that can be imported into applications such as Google Earth and Google Maps.

DSM

Elevation values representing the terrain height.

3D Model

This format represents the position of each vertex, the UV position of each texture coordinate vertex, vertex normals, and the faces that make each polygon defined as a list of vertices, and the texture vertices.

Triangle Mesh

Polygon File Format. The file format describes an object as a list of nominally flat polygons storing color, transparency, surface normals, texture coordinates and data confidence values.
